- When do you decide to open source a tool you built?
I imagine you have piles, not just your main engine. I usually open source when I decided the effort to monetize is not worth it, which is basically everything outside employment for me. A business has to look at everything in terms of monetization, or it just won’t survive. Open sourcing also drains support resources.
