Did Chrome kill the Unity Plug-in?
I just noticed this:
Does that mean no more Unity games on the web?
(From what I’ve seen, Unity’s WebGL exporter seems nowhere ready for prime time?)
Yep, they killed it and that’s actually a great thing.
Now the Unity guys will just HAVE to make the WebGL exporter work, promoting the decadence of plugins and magnifying the greatness of HTML5.
NO MORE PLUGINS!
Indeed, Unity WebGL export is horrible.
Others have covered it pretty well in various threads on the internet. The protocol for that was old & insecure, there’s better ways to write a plugin these days.
One of the games I’m playing suggests using Firefox ;) Yeesh!
