Helping the Devs



  • So,

    I was wondering which kind of feedback helps you guys the most.
    I guess place 1 is taken by reproduceable bugs.
    But what comes after that?

    • Reporting glitches?
      Example: Fighting Death Himself there is a very small spot between the throne and the box which allows you to shoot through the box, hitting death while he will keep spawning on only 2 locations from which he can’t hit you. (Very difficult to reproduce)

    • Giving feedback on enemies?
      Example: The Fire Elementals could use a little less health, while the freezing birds should also deal damage. It can also be annoying when you fight Death Himself and he teleports right onto your head, there often is no was to dodge this and it can result in extremely annoying deaths where you feel frustrated because you actually didn’t do anything wrong.

    • Item pricing?
      Example: With 37500 the Mythril Armor is too expensive for what it delivers, whereass the magical Boomerang is way underpriced with its current 3,8k.

    • Item balancing?
      Example: The poison dagger could use an increased DoT (damage over time) , while the Fiery Axes should have either there total, or their direct damage reduced. The Scythe has such a small range that the bouncing is basically useless, it would be nice if it would reset to full range upon hitting a wall.

    • Other issues:
      Example: Standing close to a wall your projectiles will often get stuck on invisble edges, this leads to situations where you randomly loose a huge chunk of health because you don’t hit an enemy you SHOULD have hit. (That’s also the main reason why the Boom Spear is absolute suicide).

    • Or possibly new ideas for characters / weapons / general ideas?
      Example: A pick-up that gave you a power up for a short amount of time would be nice. It would be incredibly awesome if Raga could transform into a dragon for like 5 seconds, or Moto could summon 2 wolves to help him.

    These are very valuable to us! Anything that breaks the game is critical. This particular issue is moot because I’ve cut the summoning phase from Death’s behavior (I think that change was in 1.0.32).

    That is useful too. However Death won’t teleport right on top of you. During his initial phase, he appears right in front of you. SPOILER: If you’re walking forward, you will take immediately damage. If you stand still, you can strafe to the side to dodge. If you’re moving backwards, you’ll be just fine :) During his other phases, he chooses a lighted area to teleport to. So in all phases you have the ability to dodge his teleports.

    These are useful but subjective – balancing is very difficult!

    Sounds awesome! We’re always open to suggestions but since it’s post-launch we want to focus on things that are easy and use existing features as much as possible.
